Hockey Wisdom

by bevbarnes on January 4, 2011

I spent most of New Year’s day watching hockey.  Yes I’m Canadian but that’s not the reason why.  It’s because of my 15 year old son.  He fell in love with hockey when he was seven and so I’ve been a fan ever since.  Growing up in Montreal meant that hockey was always a big part of my life. I remember the famous Canada/Russia hockey tournament when our whole school got to miss class and watch the final game in the gymnasium.    Yes, I’m that old.  But my love of hockey exploded when I became a parent.  Because my son’s love of the game was contagious.  So I wanted to share some hockey wisdom with you at the start of the new year.

Work is supposed to feel like play.

Find your talent and use it.

Practice, practice, practice.

Love what you do.

Your passion is contagious.

Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

Get outside.

Use your body.

See the big picture.

Give it all you’ve got then rest.

Believe in yourself.

Have the happiest of New Years!
