Are You Afraid of Success?

When I finished Coach training I was excited and frantic at the same time.

I was eager to get this business off the ground and terrified that it might actually happen.

I needed to deal with my lizard brain that kept telling me “Who are YOU to think you can do something great?”

It turns out that I didn’t have a fear of failure, but a fear of success.

 And so if I didn’t start, I couldn’t succeed.

I think that Marianne Williamson wrote her famous quote just for me.  I’m sure you’ve seen it, but here’s a reminder:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Motivated by focusing on others, rather than myself, bit by bit, I discovered that I could show the “real” me, that I didn’t need to hide my gifts.  I discovered that “great” for me wasn’t fame and fortune but it was doing using work that I loved and having the freedom to live the way I wanted to.

That’s why I created the Coaches Cocoon – to help you step up, and step into your light.

To help YOU grow your wings and fly.

A new Level 1 group begins on October 17.

I’d love for you to join me.  Click here for all the details.
